A well-loved janitor has retired from Inverallochy School after 17 years of service at Inverallochy, Rathen and Sandhaven School.
Pupils of Inverallochy School celebrated Mr Dennis Elrick’s excellent service to the School with a surprise presentation in his honour.
Mr Elrick was very moved by the pupils’ doric chants, songs and poems in his honour. One pupil wrote:
“Your part o the school we’ll miss ye sair, We cana believe we’ll see ye nae mair,
Ye aye hiv a smile, ye mak oor day, We wish ye a the best as ye go on yer way.”
Pupil Council members Jack Cowe and Kelly Stephen presented Mr Elrick with a cheque from Pupils, Parents and the Community.
Mr Elrick was also given a voucher from Staff and cheques from the Parent Council and Ladies Club as a token of their appreciation of his enthusiasm, commitment and dedication.
Miss Stephen, Head teacher praised Mr Elrick for his work she said:
“He has been an exceptional Janitor who always went the extra mile and nothing was too much bother for him.
“He is irreplacable and will be remembered at the school. He will be sadly missed by Staff, Pupils and the Community but we wish him future happiness in a well earned retirement.”
