Stamp of approval for Strichen Post Office

The Post Office in Strichen will get a modernised make-over next month as it moves to seven days a week opening times.

The new ‘local’ service will launch on Wednesday September 7 with opening hours increased to 112 including Sundays.

Anne Clark, Post Office Area Manager said: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents.”

“We are confident that this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the local community will meet customer needs.

She added: “This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office and will secure services for the future.”

The new seven day a week service will open from 6 am to 10 pm Monday to Friday.

Customers will be able to access a range of Post Office and mails services, including Special Delivery, Local Collect, home shopping returns, online banking cash deposits and withdrawals.

Other services include withdrawals using a Post Office Card Account, send funds abroad using Moneygram, and customers can pay bill, pre-order travel money, apply for travel insurance and top up mobile phones.

The branch will need to close temporarily for refurbishment from 5:30pm on Monday September 5.

During this time customers are encouraged to use the New Pitsligo Post Office at 69 High Street, New Pitsligo orFraserburgh Post Office at 6-12 Mid Street.

In 2012 The Post Office announced an investment of £1.34bn for the Post Office network to undertake a transformation programme across 6000 branches.
