A North-east farm is opening its farm gates to the public as it gets ready to welcome the harvest home.

The Store at Foveran is hosting its annual farm open day on Sunday, September 15 as part of Scottish Food & Drink Fortnight - a nationwide campaign that celebrates and supports the fresh, local and seasonal food that Scotland has to offer.

The popular farm open day offers fun for all the family, with guests getting the chance to explore the farm and enjoy its award winning produce freshly cooked on the BBQ.

The free event will include working demonstrations of many aspects of a modern farm at harvest time, including the combine harvesters, and automated tractors that drive by themselves.

Visitors will also get the chance to help the on-site butcher with some sausage making, as well as a cooking demonstration from our award winning chef.

The family-run farm and farm store, which was recently recognised at this year’s Scotland Food and Drink Excellence Awards, is owned by husband and wife team Andrew and Debbie Booth.

Mr Booth said: “Our farm open days are always very popular with our customers as it is a great day out that everyone can get involved with.”

The farm open day is a free event, with gates opening from 10am-4pm, and demonstrations starting at 11am.
