Capital Plan to go before councillors

An update on Aberdeenshire Council’s Capital Plan expenditure will go before councillors today, (Thursday, September 19).

The Capital Plan reflects the council’s capital priorities for the current year and future years, including major school, social work and council office building projects.

The latest monitoring report reveals that the Capital Plan is roughly on course for forecast expenditure to meet the budget, with a reported variance of £600,000 against a budget for the current year of over £97 million.

Significant progress is being made towards delivering the new Ellon and Mearns Academies, plus a refurbishment and extension at Kemnay Academy.

Over £10 million is planned to be spent on essential maintenance to council properties, whilst significant investment in vehicles and land are also forecast for this financial year.

The report will be considered by members of the Policy and Resources Committee. today at Woodhill House, Aberdeen.
