Congratulations have been expressed to all the hardy, intrepid golfers who braved the ferocious winds on Sunday, July 24, to compete in the Macmillan Cancer Support Centenary Texas Scramble, hosted by Inverallochy Golf Club on behalf of the MCS Fraserburgh Committee in this the 100th year since the charity was established.
In spite of the unseasonal weather conditions on the links, the prevailing atmosphere among the participants in the clubhouse was one of good humour and enjoyment.
A terrific tally of 43 teams competed on the day in the fundraising event which generated the princely sum of £2,300.
The local Macmillan Committee supported by the Inverallochy G.C. Committee was delighted to make a donation to the ladies of Fraserburgh Inner Wheel towards their latest effort to raise funds for the Palliative Care Unit in Fraserburgh Hospital.
The MCS Committee would like to thank most sincerely among others the club captain, committee and caterers of Inverallochy Golf Club for hosting the competition and for all their help and support.
Thanks were also expressed to all who played and/or so generously donated and bought raffles, as well as the thoughtful and generous benefactors and sponsors, including Lochpots Chippie, Fish ‘n’ Things, The Grill and Findlay’s Chip Shop and Restaurant, without all of whom the event could certainly not have been such a resounding success.
Congratulations were given to all the prizewinners, in particular the winning team, ‘Keith Loons’, comprising A. Davidson and S. Black from Kintore and G. Simpson and F. Logan from Keith.
Well done, all who supported the event, and the club looks forward to seeing you again next year!
