Cheers bar in Fraserburgh is up for Repertoire Best Outside Area at this year’s DRAM Scottish Licensed Trade Awards – the most prestigious awards in the industry.
Over the last three weeks the judges have been touring Scotland to whittle down the entries to just three finalists in each of the 15 categories.
And Cheers has made it through to the final three in this category, impressing the judges with its excellent outdoor facilities which are extensive to say the least.
Organiser Susan Young said: “The quality and the breadth of the entry this year has been excellent – from little pubs to multi-national companies. But they all have something in common - they are striving for excellence in their business.
She added, “When you talk to licensees around the country they may be concerned about what the future holds, but that hasn’t stopped them growing and investing in their businesses. They are to be applauded.”
The awards, which are now in their 16th year, will take place at Glasgow’s Grand Central Hotel on June 20.
The other finalists in the category are The Beechtree Inn, Dumgoyne and The Birds and The Bees in Stirling.
A Lifetime Achievement Award will also be conferred on one unsuspecting licensed trade luminary. Awards will be given out in categories including:
The Benromach Award for Success, BII Training Award, Glenmorangie Whisky Bar of the Year, Molson Coors Champion in Industry award, Captain Morgan’s Best Late Night Venue, Rekorderlig New Bar of the Year, and Strongbow Manager of the Year, DRAM Gastro Pub of the Year, Mixxit Bar Apprentice of the Year and Repertoire Best Outside Area.
The awards are also sponsored by Dunns Food and Drinks.
