Speaking to the Fraserburgh Herald this week, Mr Forsyth revealed that, following a trip South to take part in the SLTN awards ceremony, where the team at the Broad Street bar picked up the best beer quality award, representatives from Sky invited them to take part in their ‘Ultimate Venue’ awards.

Revealing that they had made the short-list for the award this week, where they will take on three other bars from across the United Kingdom, the Fraserburgh business will be hopeful that they can bring yet another award back to the Broch.

“What makes us stand out is that we are very inclusive and accessible, we cater for everyone,” Mr Forsyth told the Fraserburgh Herald.

And with the announcement of their 3D lounge and the recent refurbishment of their outside area, has regularly done well in representing the local area in previous award

“We’re really hoping to do well in it,” said Mr Forsyth on Cheers’ chances in the Ultimate Venue awards.

Earlier this year, at the SLTN awards, the team from Cheers came home with the Tennents Best Beer Quality

The local bar was also in the running in two other categories on the night, for the best smoking facilities, which they won last year, and the social responsibility award, just missing out on

However, with the outside area now complete, there are high hopes that Cheers Cafe, Bar and Tavern can regain and retain all of their awards in the future.
