A Peterhead businesswoman is celebrating 15 years in business in the town.
Connie Chiappino first launched Rhiannon Jewellery back in October 2001 and has never looked back.
She told the Buchanie: “I decided to launch Rhiannon as I have always loved jewellery.
“I was working part-time for a company and was their top seller for Scotland so a lot of friends and family presuaded me to start up on my own. It was a big ask, but I decided to go for it. It went really well and before long I had two girls working for me and had great support from all across the North-east, from as far as Elgin in the north down to Stonehaven in the south.”
In 2010 the recession hit and things went a bit downhill for Connie, but undeterred, she swapped her sterling silver ranges for the more popular costume jewellery.
“I also decided to go back to office work, but continued with Rhiannon and branched into handbags and purses too and started doing fairs and stalls at events.
“I still do fairs and fundraisers but not as much parties as I’m getting older now,” she said. “I’ve had a lot of very, very good and loyal customers over the years and I hope to continue on for another 15,” she added.
