fraserburgh Councillor Brian Topping has urged drivers to take care on north east roads.
Cll Topping was reiterating the plea he made more than a year ago for drivers to bear in mind the conditions when driving on the A90 Fraserburgh Road.
The stretch of road has seen a spate of accidents in the past few years, including a two-vehicle crash which killed a young couple earlier this month.
The couple, Doralee Belk from Fraserburgh and John Richards from Peterhead, were killed when their Honda Civic collided with a Fiat Ducato van on the notorious stretch.
Speaking to the Herald, Cllr Topping said: “There have been a number of accidents on the road and I just want to reiterate the importance of being aware of the road conditions when driving.
“I have spoken to Bear Scotland to see if there is anything to make this road safer, maybe offer some warnings signs for drivers.”
Councillor Iain Tait first called for the road to be upgraded by Transport Scotland back in 2009 when a 66 year-old man was killed in an accident on the road.
