Councillors give thanks before May 3rd election

Councillors Brian Topping and Michael Watt both gave their thanks to the Community Council last week during their meeting, the last before the local elections in May.

Both Councillors had earlier this year announced their intention to stand for election again.

Cllr Topping said: “I would like to say it has been a pleasure working with you, and I hope to come back and continue to work with you.”

Cllr Topping added that he believes that, whoever is elected, the whole community needs to support local services and work together.

Cllr Watt said: “It has been a pleasure, and I think it can get a lot better.”

Community Council Chair, Mr McNab, agreed that Fraserburgh has shown signs of improvement, adding that the town needs strong councillors.

Mr McNab added that, at the next meeting of the Community Council, he was hopeful that there would be four faces instead of two.

Also giving thanks was Community Councillor Mr Lovegrove, who thanked the Community Council for the £200 donation to the Stevenson Centre. He said that the open day was so successful that they hope to hold another.
