A local couple have celebrated their 70th anniversary this week at the Crimond House nursing home.
Edward (Ted) and Eileen Ealy, originally from London, moved to the North-east in 1993, making a home for themselves and their family at Kenmay.
Ted (90) and Eileen (87) married on July 25, 1942 and have one surviving son, Michael. Due to failing health, they sold up and gained a two bedroom flat in very sheltered accommodation in Mintlaw in 2010. However, with Eileen’s worsening dementia, the couple were seperated when she moved to Crimond House in 2011.
They still see each other three times a week with the help of relatives and the carers to whom the family are extremely grateful for their support.
