Thieves have attempted to break-in to a number of care homes in the Fraserburgh area Police Scotland have confirmed.
Care homes in Fraserburgh, Sandhaven and Rosehearty reported break in attempts between Sunday March 6 and Monday March 7.
As a result a low two figure sum of cash was stolen plus bottles of alcohol.
Investigating officer PC Cooper of the North East Division CID Proactive Unit said: “These are unpleasant crimes but I would like to reassure the public that they are a rare occurrence within our communities.
“We are treating the incidents as linked and I would urge anyone with information regarding these incidents to contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if they wish to remain anonymous.”
