Information appeal after attempted robbery with machete in Fraserburgh

Police Scotland have appealed for information after an attempted robbery in Fraserburgh.

The incident happened on Monday 10th August at 10:20am.

A male in his late teens between 5’8’’ and 5’10’’, went into the Nickle & Dime shop on Saltoun Square, Fraserburgh, and brandished a weapon at staff.

A member of staff told the Herald that the weapon was a one-foot long machete.

The robber demanded money from staff, but was told “I can’t do that”.

No property was stolen. Staff were shaken, but uninjured.

The male was wearing a hoodie, tracksuit bottoms and a baseball cap - all black in colour - and is thought to have made off in the direction of North Braehead.
