A BROCH man chased two men with a baseball bat after a fight over a washing machine, a court has heard.
Peterhead Sheriff Court heard on Thursday that Husen Ahmed Majid was at home at Moray Road, Fraserburgh on February 13 when two men arrived and the door asking to speak to his partner.
The woman went to the door and a heated discussion ensued.
Mr Majid (33) was allegedly assaulted by one of the men and said that the second man produced a knife from his pocket.
Majid then took the baseball bat and chased the two men along Moray Road and onto Watermill Road before the police were called.
Defence agent Sam Milligan said: “Mr Majid was at home with his partner and young child when two men came to the door. Mr Majid realises that he should have shut the door and called police.
“His partner and child were inside the house and he found himself in a situation that was not of his own doing.”
Fining Majid £200, Sheriff Edward Savage said that the offence was “very serious”.
A forfeiture order was also imposed to remove the weapon from Majid.
