Shadow chairman of Aberdeenshire’s Education and Children’s Services Committee Cllr Charles Buchan has issued a reminder to parents that applications for the Scottish Government’s free childcare scheme closes on Friday.
Commenting, Cllr Charles Buchan said: “I congratulate the Scottish Government on the success of the 600 free hours of childcare available to all three and four year old children.
“Provision can be chosen from Aberdeenshire Council nursery classes, approved playgroups, and approved private day nurseries.
“Fraserburgh parents and carers should know that the application period for places for places closes on Friday 6 March.
“It is important to submit the application as early as possible so that the place is secured, and that there is plenty of time for planning.”
Application packs are available at most nurseries and playgroups.
Certain children who are two years old are also eligible for the free 600 hours, if they are looked after and accommodated, under a kinship or guardianship order, or if the parents and carers are in receipt of certain benefits.
If you think your child falls within the eligibility rules for two year olds, contact Aberdeenshire Council on 01224 664026.
