A Fraserburgh couple who marked their 60th wedding anniversary recently have raised hundreds of pounds for charity as part of their celebrations.
Catherine and George Moir raised a total of £852 for Macmillan Cancer Support during their Diamond anniversary party.
The fantastic sum was raised by donations from the couple’s family, friends and neighbours.
Catherine and George’s party was held at the Leisure Centre and included a meal and music. The party was attended by 80 friends and family members.
Catherine and George presented a cheque to Macmillan recently.
Moira Gordon, who is a Clinical Nurse Specialist with Macmillan Cancer Support, commented: “This is greatly appreciated. This will go to great use to people in the local area.
“I’d like to thank Catherine and George very much.”
Commenting, George said: “This is something that has affected both of our families - this is the reason why we chose to make the donation to Macmillan.”
Catherine added: “We hope everybody had a good night at the party and thank all those who made donations.”
