A Mintlaw couple today celebrated 60 years of marriage saying friendship was key to a long and happy marriage.
Wilson and Christina McLeman celebrated their 60 year anniversary at their home in Aden Gardens after getting married at 18 years old.
The couple have three sons, four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren from their six decades together and Wilson joked: "If we live another 10 years we could have great great grandchildren."
On the secret to a long and lasting marriage Wilson highlighted friendship as the main ingredient.
He said: "As well as being married she's also my best friend - so friendship is a lot to do with it."
Wilson then joked: "It also helped that I was away a lot.
Before adding: "But she was with me the whole time I was away.
"It was a joint thing. Joint decisions."
Christina joked: "I just tagged on with him."
The couple were visited by local councillor Jim Ingram on their special occasion and the Vice Lord Lieutenant of Aberdeen Joanna Gordon.
