Jimmy Buchan recently visited Mintlaw Academy to give a talk to a group of S4-6 Biology pupils who have been studying over exploitation of the fishing industry.
He gave an informative presentation on developments in the fishing industry and covered many key points such as the need to preserve juvenile fish stocks and the economic impact that this has had on society.
Mr Buchan said: “I see it as a privilage to share my life experience with the future generation.
“The students are our future and the more information they have helps them make more informed decisions hopefully helping out local communities.”
The group of Biology pupils said they found this to be a very valuable talk to relate what they had been learning in the classroom to real life situations.
