Anita Govan, performance poet and current Stirling Makar made a visit to Fraserburgh Academy recently to speak with S3 pupils and senior students studying for their Higher and Advanced Higher English.

Anita spoke of her own struggles with reading and writing as a child before performing some of her own poems and passing on many tips on how to write poetry.

The sessions were very interactive with the senior pupils performing some poetry too.

Organisers of the event said Anita brought poetry to life by making it very accessible and enjoyable through her lively talks.

The Library staff would like to thank Fraserburgh Academy Parent Council and the Scottish Book Trust who helped fund this event.
