A free event is being held to help businesses understand changes to waste regulations which will affect them.
The new Waste (Scotland) Regulations come into force from January 2014 and will affect the majority of businesses of all sizes, across all sectors in Scotland.
The changes will require businesses to separate all waste paper, card, metal, plastic and glass for recycling. There are also requirements on food waste disposal.
Zero Waste Scotland has organised a free event to help business owners learn more about the changes and how they will affect them.
The briefing will take place at the Thainstone Exchange at Inverurie on March 20 from 2pm to 4pm.
Find out more about how the changes to waste rules can help reduce your business’s operating costs and improve environmental credentials.
The briefing will cover: the legal requirements of the regulations and what businesses must do to comply; how effective waste management can benefit your business and the environment; how to negotiate your waste contract to meet regulatory requirements; what support is available and how to access it; case studies of businesses already getting on board and how they have benefited.
The briefings are free, but spaces are limited. To book a place go to: www.zerowastescotland.org.uk/regsbriefings.
