Fraserburgh residents will soon be able to enjoy a new addition to James Ramsay Park as work begins on a Garden of Remembrance.

Proposed by Councillor Ian Tait, the Garden of Remembrance will be where the unused Pentaque bowling green was situated.

Councillor Tait, of Fraserburgh and District, said: “The remembrance garden is for everyone - all those who wish to have a quiet private spot to go and sit and remember their loved ones who have passed away.”

The garden area will be surrounded by beech hedges and trees to provide a quiet area for people to come and pay their respects.

There will also be a circle in the middle of the garden there will be a focal point where people can lay flowers.

Work on the garden will also include the oversee the upgrade of existing paths.

Councillor Tait said: “This public memorial garden is for my constituents in and around Fraserburgh, and, having worked on it for months now with council officials, I am sure it will be first-class”

Work will continue in August and September.
