With construction work now well underway, FISSH have got a fabulous line-up of activities planned to keep everyone entertained on Sunday, September 4, during their annual fun day.
Speaking to the Herald, FISSH chairperson, Doreen Mair said: “The day is packed full of activities for everyone to enjoy. Starting at 1pm we have Brian Topping kicking-off the festivities, and junior joggers will be able to register for our fun run until 2pm when the fun run starts.
“Between 1pm and 2pm we have Highland dancers demonstrating their expertise; a very brave lad, Stephen John who will be getting a full body wax and Inferno Fire Troupe wowing the crowds with their fire displays.
“After the fun run, which is open to all primary age children, we have more displays from dancers, Deveron Pipe Band, Zumba and Zumbatonics, finishing the day off with a balloon race at 4pm.
“The fundraising total for our facilities within the new swimming pool and sports complex stands at a whopping £80,000 – this is absolutely fantastic but we have another £40,000 to go.”
The fun day at Fraserburgh Community Centre and academy playing fields launches ‘Splash for Cash’ Swimathon Week, it is not too late for people to get involved in ‘Splash for Cash’ either so get your sponsors and get fit at the same time.
If you don’t swim you could get people to sponsor your jogging, running, walking or cycling for the week! Information leaflets and sponsor forms are available from Mhairi on 541373, Doreen on 514096 or from the swimming pool.
Doreen added: “We are all really looking forward to the fun day, last year we had a brilliant day with glorious sunshine and a fantastic turnout, hopefully this year will be the same.”
