A Fraserburgh councillor has welcomed the erection of a fence around the play park at James Ramsay Park in the Broch.
Councillor Brian Topping welcomed the development recently, saying the new fence would make it safer for young children who were playing at the swing park - given its close proximity to Strichen Road.
Cllr Topping also said the new boundary would help to keep dogs out of the area and took the opportunity to remind dog-owners that dogs are not allowed in children’s play areas.
Commenting, Brian said: “I’m absolutely delighted that we now have a nice, secure fence surrounding the large play area in James Ramsay Park.
“This will make it a lot safer for young children, given how close it is to the busy Strichen Road.
“I’ve been aware of parents’ concerns, who have come down with a couple of children and who have been concerned about safety.
“I’d like to thank Council official Ian Tillett for having money in the capital plan to allow this project to happen.”
