First Christmas de-lights

A Fraserburgh man will celebrate his child’s first Christmas this December by lighting up his house to raise money for Children in Need.

Shane Stephen, 19, wanted to do something special to celebrate his four-month-old daughter Freya’s first festive season.

Shane said: “I like helping charity organisations.

“This year I’ve got my own house with my partner and my baby so I contacted Children in Need to see what I could do.”

Shane and his partner Lana wanted to decorate their home with a festive display and put the idea forward to Children in Need.

Shane said: “They said it was an excellent idea and that they would help me with it.”

The couple bought an array of different lights and put them up on their home.

Shane said: “All of the lights either move or strobe.”

They then switched on the lights of his display three days ago on Friday 27.

Shane now switches on the lights at 28 Assynt Place every day at 3:45pm.

There is a donation box at the front of the house where passers-by can put in money or people can scan their phone which will bring them to an online Just Giving page that Shane has set up.
