The 18th Invercairn Gala held up against some wet weather to provide a week of festivities, frivolity and fancy dress for the local community.
The Gala finished on Saturday August 6 with the Marquee Extravaganza that completed a week of entertainment which also raises money to be spent in the local community.
A spokesperson for Invercairn Gala said: “Our primary purpose for the Gala is to provide entertainment for the community and to make and distribute funds to deserving local groups.
“To achieve this the committee relies on the support of the groups that receive funds as well as the many folks who go unnoticed and unmentioned aiding us to achieve our goals.
“Therefore on behalf of the committee, we’d like say a huge thank you for the support to all the helpers who assisted in anyway whatsoever during the week as well as all those who attended the events during the week.”
The committee, which raised £28,000 last year, won’t know for at least three more weeks this year’s figures.
There were many proud parents showing off their bouncing babies at the baby show and Boris Johnson and Donald Trump even managed to drop in at the fancy dress party.
Local bands rocked the marquee tent and a crowd of over 800 sat down for Bingo.
With the 2016 gala now over the committee are already beginning to plan for next year’s event.
