Fraserburgh Gala were this month boosted by the work of its committee, organising a pamper night at the Leisure Centre in an effort to raise funds for the proposed weekend-long event.
The pamper night, which saw Banff and Buchan College students, local hairdressers and salons, and businesses offer treatments and stalls raised a total of £1094 for the upcoming gala.
The gala itself, to take place over the weekend of August 17, will feature a variety with shows, stalls and events taking place to suit everyone.
As part of the gala, Karen Gibson, a local Zumba instructor is organising a record-breaking Zumbathon, hoping that they can break the current record of 1,233 participating dancers.
Karen said: “We want the Zumbathon to be fun and as many people to take part as possible.
“We think it will be something for the whole family and you don’t have to know how to do Zumba to take part.
“We thought it would be a fun idea if people dressed up as well! It would be great to see local businesses joining in too, especially if they dress up,” she added.
The gala will be based at the leisure centre and the immediate facilities behind it.
