Saturday, September 13, will bring another amazing Super Saturday to Fraserburgh Town Centre from 10am to 3.30pm.
Fraserburgh’s Super Saturdays are amongst the most exciting town centre market days in the North-east, demonstrating the vitality of the town.
As well as increasing footfall to showcase local shops, service providers, cafes, bars and restaurants, the markets bring specialised products and extra choice during the monthly Super Saturdays.
Also remember to look out for all the promotions in the local shops which support this fantastic family day out. See the Promotion Boards on display and pick up your Super Saturday Promotions map for further details.
The theme for this month’s event is ‘Food Glorious Food’ and the organisers have some fantastic foodie treats in store and lots of samples at the Tasting Stall to tantalise the taste buds.
Cooking Demonstrations will run throughout the day so visitors can not only taste and try but also pick up some great tips to improve their cooking skills once back home.
Fraserburgh’s local fish shops have donated some of our coastline’s best seafood for the Rotarian’s Seafood Cooking Demonstration; Ann Bell will be showing how to create luxury eating on a budget; and favourite local restaurateur William Amps of Heath Hill Hotel will be treating us once more to an all day cooking demonstration, proving that fresh, homemade meals are the best we can eat.
For a small donation visitors can test their mountaineering skills on the climbing wall and there are some great child friendly activities at the Kids Super Saturday Shack. Activities include hook a duck, the Hamper Hunt Competition sponsored by Partridge’s on High Street as well as the Fancy Dress Competition sponsored by S&J’s, also on High Street.
Those who enjoyed the entertainment on previous Super Saturdays won’t be disappointed this time around either.
DJ Alan Strachan of WestParkProductions.co.uk is donating his time once again to the event and will be the host for the day.
Super Saturday will open at 10am with local singing talent Fiona Buchan and another highlight of the day will be a performance from Marvellous Mo and The Blackline Ferrets who will be bringing us back to the sounds of the 60’s and 70’s.
And visitors can get fit and healthy after all the tasting sessions by joining Marnie Laird for some Zumba at 12.30pm.
The Fraserburgh Forward Business Association (FFBA) and Fraserburgh Development Trust (FDT) have received fantastic support and encouragement from Aberdeenshire Council and the council’s financial support has made these events possible for Fraserburgh.
Organisers hope everyone has a fantastic time this Saturday and look forward to hearing your comments about what you enjoyed and what you would like to see added to the future events.
You can even volunteer to be part of the Super Saturday team on the day. Organisers are presently looking for volunteers for the Tasting Stall and Kids Super Saturday Shack.
Visit “Fraserburgh-Super-Saturdays” on Facebook for updates or send us a message if you wish to participate in any future events as a volunteer, stall holder or entertainer.
