A big hearted North-east community is once again preparing for one of the region’s largest fund raising event.
The 2012 Moonlight Prowl will take place in Fraserburgh on Saturday, June 2, which is the weekend of the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth, and the ladies of the Moonlight Prowl are planning to celebrate in style.
Event Chairperson Pamela Manett said: “This year we have a large number of ladies who will celebrate their sixtieth birthday. What better way to enjoy such a land mark birthday than to join with over 800 women to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee and to raise money for a worth while cause.”
Since its inception in 2006, the Fraserburgh based Moonlight Prowl has raised over half a million pounds for research into the prevention and treatment of breast cancer at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and the University of Aberdeen.
Mrs Manett added: “Each year this event goes from strength to strength and the 2012 red, white and blue event will be one to remember. Every year the community of Fraserburgh rises to the occasion and gives a warm welcome to ladies from all over the North-east.
“This is what makes the Prowl unique and once again we would encourage residents and businesses to decorate their shops and gardens in red, white and blue with of course a touch of pink.”
