Fraserburgh Heritage Society is delighted to announce that Fraserburgh Heritage Centre will be open as usual from April 1 ‘till October 31, 2012.
This is due to the magnificent support received last year after it was announced that Aberdeenshire Council would be withdrawing their grant for the new season.
Although our opening times will be reduced, we will be open for seven days a week - so we are looking for two part-time, seasonal staff for three days a week - from Monday to Saturday, and will be run by volunteers on Sunday.
If you would like to apply for one of the posts, please do so in writing to:
Fraserburgh Heritage Society,
Or if you would like to help as a volunteer on a Sunday, you can contact the Secretary on the same address.
Fund raising continues this season, and our first effort this year is a car boot sale in the Fraserburgh Leisure Centre on Saturday, March 17 from 10am ‘till 2pm.
Tables are available on a first come first served basis at £10 a table, and can be booked by calling Ronnie McNab on telephone number 01346 517260.
Ronnie McNab, the chairperson of the Community Council, had said last week that the Fraserburgh Heritage centre would receive no new grant this year, following news of an Aberdeenshire Council underspend of £11 million.
Mr McNab also said that there was a £3000 deficit for this year at the Heritage Centre, with the roof in need of repair.
