A local coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support has raised over £500 as part of a nationwide campaign to host coffee mornings.
Julie Masson and Dorothy Roy had raised the money, a grand total of £552, for the charity with the help of relatives, friends and neighbours.
The pair thanked them and local bakery Smiths for donating morning rolls and pancakes for the morning.
Macmillan’s largest fundraising event, the coffee mornings have this year raised over £12 million for the charity.
In 2012, the charity say that 115,000 had signed up to take part, raising a record £15 million sum.
