A local man died on Saturday after his body was found in Fraserburgh’s harbour. The 66-year-old was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

Named locally as Robert Strachan, the man is understood to have been found in the harbour at around 9:15am on February 1.

Police Scotland have said that, after the body had been spotted, Fraserburgh’s lifeboat crew had transferred the man to an ambulance on the scene. Mr Strachan is then understood to have been taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary via helicopter.

Police Scotland said on Monday morning that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death. A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Meanwhile, tributes to the late Caledonia Court resident, Mr Strachan, also known as ‘Muscles’, have been left on social media website Facebook.
