McInnes backs hunger campaign

North East Liberal Democrat MSP Alison McInnes is calling on people in the North East to support an Oxfam-backed campaign to tackle global hunger.

The “Enough Food For Everyone If …” campaign is the biggest call for change in a generation. It is uniting more than 100 organisations, including Oxfam, all focused on one goal: to end global hunger.Commenting, Mrs McInnes said: “Hunger is a scandal which affects millions, with more than two million children dying every year because they do not have enough food. I support this campaign and have signed a parliamentary motion welcoming it. People can find out more and sign up at the Oxfam website –”

The campaign calls on leaders to tackle four “Ifs”, including giving enough aid to stop children dying from hunger and helping the poorest families feed themselves.
