North East MSP Alison McInnes today welcome improvements to the post office in New Pitsligo.
Currently the service at the Drummond Stores on High Street is operated as an outreach facility from Buckie post office. However from October 17 this will change to a new-style local branch with longer opening hours.
Mrs McInnes commented: “This is good news. The post office is a vital part of the community. It provides a hub and focal point for local people.”
The branch will need to close at the close of business on Thursday, October 9, so that some physical changes can take place to the retail counter. When it re-opens the service will be available seven days a week from 7am to 7pm, matching the shop hours, and offering more products and services overall.
