Residents at a Fraserburgh care home will be able to enjoy a new cafe and bar at their facility thanks to a fundrasing venture by staff.
St Modens Care Home in Fraserburgh will unveil Sma Glen, the new on site bar and cafe, tomorrow afternoon.
Gail Hay, Manager of St Modans, said: “We’ve renovated one of our rooms to become a cafe bar.
“It’s for residents use and obviously for family members and relatives and it’s where we can have our social events.”
The bar was custom built from reclaimed timber by Liverpool company WJHomebars.
It was brought about thanks to £2,500 in funds raised by staff organised by Angela Armstrong who works at St Modans.
The cafe bar will be opened tomorrow afternoon at 1.45 pm by the care home’s longest serving resident Connie Robertson.
The cafe will be open 2pm to 4pm on a daily basis with the bar taking over from 6pm to 8pm every n ight.
As the care home isn’t actually allowed to sell alcohol the bar will be run by an honour system where patrons will make donations towards what they take from the bar
