Early last month two intrepid Brochers set out on what they thought was a 138-mile walk coast to coast from Oban to Montrose.
This normally takes 12 days, but they were planning to complete it in eight.
By the end, the pair had covered more than 160 miles and will never trust Google again!
Luckily, the weather was on their side and they could enjoy the most of the beautiful scenery along the way.
The pair - Gordon McRobbie (56) and Gordon Cowie (57), were raising money for charity.
Gordon M’s chosen cause was Epilepsy Sucks UK - a charity that provides special pillows for people who suffer from epilepsy.
Sudden Unexplained Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP) is a constant worry for people who have night seizures and these pillows cut the risk of suffocation.
The charity is funded by donations and Gordon’s daughter received one of these pillows so she wanted to ensure other parents and sufferers could also benefit from the peace of mind these pillows bring.
Gordon C’s personal reasons for a marathon walk were to raise funds for the British Red Cross and Bowel/Prostate Cancer charities, with the money raised being used locally.
Any additional funds beyond this target will go towards the purchase of a defibrilator for use by Fraserburgh Football Club and the local community.
Both men suffered during the walk but at the end of it both were glad they had done it.
The physical challenge was immense, but they saw parts of Scotland they had never seen before and said the scenery was immense and awe-inspiring.
To-date, Gordon M has raised more than £900 and Gordon C has raised more than £3,000 and they would like to thank anyone who has sponsored them or helped in any way.
