A Fraserburgh family have been celebrated for rehoming four rescue horses as part of one charity’s Rehome a Horse month.

Mary and Alistair Doran have been congratulated by World Horse Welfare for taking in four horses, Hamilton, Solo, Rags and Laird, since 2007.

Mary said: “Each horse has their own unique personality and it’s been so rewarding to see them all grow and develop in their time here.

She added: ““Rehoming a horse from World Horse Welfare not only means that you are giving them a new lease of life but also makes space for the thousands of other horses and ponies who need the charity’s help.

“They really make it feel like home and I am so happy to have them in my life.

World Horse Welfare is an international horse charity that tries to improve the lives of horses in the UK and further afield through education, campaigning and hands-on care of horses.

Tony Tyler, World Horse Welfare Deputy Chief Executive, said: “We are delighted to see the public’s greater interest in rehoming which is so important to the sustainability of our work in helping horses.
