Preparations for this year’s Super Saturdays are already underway following the appointment of a new co-ordinator for the community events.
Anne Gostling has been appointed as Super Saturday Co-ordinator, taking over from Ann Bell who organised last year’s events.
The appointment has been welcomed by Fraserburgh and District councillor Charles who met with Anne Gostling and Ann Bell recently to discuss the preparations for this year’s line-up.
Once again, the events will take on a different theme each month, ranging from fishing to sports to farming.
There will also be a special festive Super Saturday in December, just in time for Christmas.
Commenting, Anne Gostling said: “We’re committed to promoting Fraserburgh and the surrounding area by providing a series of six themed events this year, including live entertainment, market stalls and food and drink.
“Last year was a resounding success and this year we’re looking forward to the continued support of our local councillors.”
Ann Bell commented: “I’m delighted Anne has got this position and I look forward to supporting her and building on the success of last year and seeing Anne’s innovative developments.”
Fraserburgh councillor Charles Buchan added: “I’m very pleased Anne Gostling has been appointed as our new co-ordinator and I’m certain she will build on last year’s pilot which was run so successfully by Ann Bell.
“Anne Gostling is bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise.
“I wish her very well over the next two years and I look forward to seeing the new developments, which I’m sure will play a significant part in Fraserburgh’s regeneration.”
The themes for this year’s Super Saturdays are as follows:
May 10: Homecoming;
June 14: Fishing;
July 12: Sports;
August 9: Farming;
September 13: Food & Drink;
December 9: Festive.
