Groups offered council cash boost

Community groups are being offered a cash boost from the Banff and Buchan Area Initiatives Fund.

Funding of up to £10,000 is available for local initiatives from volunteering schemes to community improvement projects.

The pot of £52,500 has been set aside to support groups to meet the needs of their communities and tap into local talent and resources.

The first round of applications should be submitted by the deadline which is May 31, 2014.

Commenting, chairman of Aberdeenshire Council’s Banff and Buchan Area Committee, councillor John Cox said: “The committee is committed to working with community groups to support the delivery of key projects which enhance the quality of life for the residents of Banff and Buchan.”
