Alex Johnstone, along with the Banff & Buchan Conservatives, will be trying to make a positive change to political campaigning in the area when they continue their series of general election public meetings on Thursday 23rd April at 7pm at Fraserburgh Leisure Centre.
“Public meetings have ceased to be a feature of election campaigns in recent years but made a real comeback during the course of the referendum campaign last year,” says Conservative candidate Alex Johnstone.
“We are now asked to vote for people having never heard them speak in public and the result is that we now have a generation of politicians who can’t address a crowd or make an argument in support of a case.
“The meeting, which will include supporting speakers, offers a real opportunity for the people of Peterhead to get to know the man who is putting up a real challenge to the SNP in their own back yard.
Peterhead will also host a meeting on April 21.
