North-east MSP Christian Allard has congratulated Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce (AGCC) on being shortlisted for two awards by the British Chamber of Commerce’s Chamber Awards.
The two categories in which AGCC has been shortlisted are the Chamber of the Year and the Most Effective Campaign.
A motion submitted to the Scottish Parliament on October 1 by Mr Allard noted AGCC was the top performing chamber in the UK for its provision of training and events and ranked only behind London for attracting sponsorship.
AGCC represents more than 1,200 businesses in the North East.
Commenting the SNP MSP said: “The shortlisting of Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce for not only Chamber of the Year but also for the Most Effective Campaign is highly deserved.
“AGCC has played a vital role in cementing the North East of Scotland’s position as the powerhouse of the UK through its promotion of the energy sector.
“The inclusion of AGCC in the shortlist reflects the great work it does and shows it is at the heart of the strong and sustainable economy in the North East.
“I wish them all the best for the awards on 28 November, 2013,” he added.
