French born MSP Christian Allard has highlighted the economic and cultural contributions made by the Polish community living and working in Scotland.
His comments follow a Polish Scottish Reception at the Scottish Parliament to mark the Wojtek Memorial Trust and MAPA Scotland (The Great Polish Map of Scotland).
Mr AllardMSP commented: “Polish people have made a fantastic cultural, as well as economic contribution to communities across Scotland.
“Here in the North-east there are many Polish people working in the fishing industry and many Polish shops in high streets throughout the region.
“Polish and other EU nationals contribute to the economy and culture of Scotland and I would urge them to get involved in Scottish democracy too.
“As EU residents of Scotland it is important that Polish people exercise their democratic right to have their say on Scotland’s constitutional future this September.”
