Stewart Stevenson, SNP MSP for Banffshire and Buchan Coast has reacted angrily to the news that the UK government has announced that it will not pass on hundreds of millions of pounds in EU agriculture payments to Scotland.
The decision sees Scottish farming losing out on €60million a year until 2020.
Mr Stevenson said: “This move by Westminster is a disgrace. Holyrood politicans from across the political divide called upon Westminster to pass on payments to farmers. “It is incredulous that the UK Government has such total disregarded Scottish farmers.
“This money only comes to the UK because of Scotland’s poor CAP budget allocation, and to see the funds go elsewhere - a badger goalpost moving cull perhaps! - is an outrage.”
