Scottish Liberal Democrat Business Manager and North East Scotland MSP Alison McInnes has welcomed the decision by the Greens and Independents in the Scottish Parliament to agree to move their opposition day debate on Margaret Thatcher’s legacy to Thursday (today).
The move was agreed at a parliamentary bureau meeting on Tuesday morning.
Commenting, Ms McInnes said: “This is a sensible decision from the Greens and Independents who have agreed to move their debate to the day after Baroness Thatcher’s funeral. There is a legitimate debate to be had on the legacy of Margaret Thatcher but the day of her funeral is not the day for that.
“This sensitive and common sense solution will allow the Scottish Parliament to have that debate and carry itself in the respectable manner people expect of it.”
