A public bus meeting was held at the Dalrymple Hall recently, with around 20 Fraserburgh residents turning out to raise their concerns.
The public meeting, which was chaired by local councillor Ian Tait, was also attended by Stagecoach Managing Director Steve Walker who was on hand to answer questions from Fraserburgh bus users.
Speaking after the meeting, both Councillor Tait and Mr Walker said they felt progress had been made in a number of areas of bus provision in the Broch, with fewer problems being reported than at previous meetings.
It was also decided that no further meetings will be held unless new problems arise.
Commenting, Councillor Ian Tait said: “I was very happy at how the meeting went in terms of the matters raised.
“There were far fewer problems raised and it was the feeling of the meeting that Stagecoach had made great strides forward in improving the services into and out of Fraserburgh.
“That being the case, we all agreed there was no need for further meetings but I was asked to convene another meeting if the problems came back.
“I am sure these meetings whereby the top manager of Stagecoach Bluebird came face to face with his customers has achieved very great improvements in the service.”
Stagecoach Managing Director Steve Walker commented: “The general feeling of the meeting was that things have improved.
“We will of course not rest on our laurels and continue to move forward and improve our services to ensure they are at the standard both ourselves and our customers expect.”
