Fraserburgh and District Councillor Brian Topping has revealed that the recycling point formerly located at the Co-operative store’s car park at Albert Street will be relocated at the JIC building.
Speaking to the Fraserburgh Herald, the councillor said that the had been in contact with the Recycling Officer of the area to resolve the matter.
Councillor Topping told the Fraserburgh Herald that the Recycling Officer had told him that a temporary recycling point would be sited at the JIC building on a trial basis for one month.
Should no problems arise from this, the recycling point would remain there until construction was complete at the former site just across the road.
Councillor Topping added that the Recycling Officer hoped to have the point in place by the week commencing July 9.
The issue of the recycling point had been brought up at the last meeting of the Fraserburgh Community Council, with members voicing their disappointment that the recycling point had been removed from the area.
