The Bethesda Evangelical Church, Manse Street, are holding a two-day special Olympic event called ‘Run to Win’ later this month.
The Church will be open from 11am ‘til 2pm on Thursday, July 26, and Friday, July 27.
Complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits will be served and there will be an opportunity to see an Olympic torch and have your picture taken with it and torch relay runner Roselyn Bruce.
There will also be a colouring competition for children, with prizes over the two days for the best pictures in the various age groups.
Also featured will be a documentary on Eric Liddell, the Scottish athlete who won a gold medal at the 1924 Paris Olympics.
The 1981 film ‘Chariots of Fire’ features his story.
Free leaflets on Eric Liddell will be available over the event, as will other free literature.
All are welcome to attend the ‘Run to Win’ Olympic event.
