A Birmingham man is keen to fill in the blanks in his family tree and tie up with some of his long-lost relatives.
Steve Shore wrote to the Buchanie asking for readers’ help in tracking down his relations, whom he believes moved to the Aberdeenshire area.
He said: “I have spent the last three years researching my family tree and have discovered that some of my ancestors were from various parts of Aberdeenshire.
“I am now researching to see if I can find and make contact with any fellow descendants of these people so that I can meet up with more of my extended family.
“I was born in Birmingham and have spent my life there. However, my great grandfather (Alexander Alexander who was born in Peterhead in 1845) moved to Birmingham in the 1860s or 1870s and met a Brummie girl and settled there. The rest, as they say, is history.
“The other ancestors I have discovered are: Alexander Alexander (born in Kintore, Aberdeenshire 1822 and later moved to Peterhead then Foveran); Mary Anne Milne (wife of above), born in Rothiemay 1829; William Alexander (born in Cairnie 1793 and later moved to Huntly), and Margaret Robertson (wife of above), born in Cairnie 1797.
If anyone knows any of these people to be ancestors of theirs and would be interested in making contact they can reach him at firstname.lastname@example.org
