Tesco customers in Fraserburgh are being encouraged to take part in a week-long donation drive to help stock Cancer Research UK shops.
All this week, until Sunday, September 29, shoppers can bring clothes, shoes, books or DVDs they no longer need to Tesco Fraserburgh and help raise vital funds for life-saving research.
Customers can pick up a bag from the checkouts at Tesco Fraserburgh until Sunday and fill it with the items they no longer need.
When customers return a filled bag, they will receive a £5 off voucher when they spend more than £25 on clothing.
The vouchers are valid from September 23 to October 7, and can be collected from the Tesco Fraserburgh customer service desk.
Erika Cartney, who is Team Leader at the customer service desk in the Fraserburgh store, commented: “So far, we’re doing very well. The first cage is nearly full and all the bags in the cage are filled.
“We’re expecting to do even better at the weekend because this is our busiest time.”
By returning a completed Gift Aid form with their bag of items, shoppers can boost the value of their donation by an additional 25 per cent. Gift Aid forms are being handed out in-store along with the bags.
A total of 300 stores across the UK are taking part in the donation drive, led by Tesco clothing brand F&F, which aims to raise £1 million worth of donated goods for the charity.
Cancer Research UK receives no government funding so the money raised through its shops is crucial to the work of doctors, nurses and scientists who work to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.
