Fraserburgh’s Super Saturdays are returning this month with a host of stalls and activities for families - all with a fantastic farming theme.

This month’s event will take place on Saturday, August 9, in Fraserburgh town centre from 10am to 3.30pm.

Fraserburgh’s Super Saturdays are amongst the most exciting town centre market days in the North-east, demonstrating the vitality of the town, the talents of locals and increasing footfall to the town centre.

With an array of stalls, the events also showcase the local shops, service providers, cafes, bars and restaurants on offer as well as offering specialised products and extra choice.

Visitors will also be able to take advantage of all the promotions in the local shops - see the promotion boards on display and pick up your Super Saturday promotions map.

The theme for this month’s event is Farming Heritage and there will be some fantastic foody treats in store and lots of samples at the Tasting Stall.

Cooking Demonstrations will run throughout the day, where visitors will be able to taste and try some delicious food but also pick up great tips to improve your own cooking skills.

Fraserburgh’s Rotarians will be returning with their Mini Raffle in aid of chosen charity CLAN and they will also be bringing another first to Super Saturday – a Kipper BBQ.

Don’t miss getting a good look at the workhorse of the farm - the tractors - which will be on show to demonstrate the many changes in the farming sector over the last few decades.

Visitors can also get up close and personal with some stunning birds courtesy of The Owl and The Pussycat Centre. They will be giving a talk on their birds in Saltoun Square around 11.30am. You can also see them at their Charity Launch Event at Fraserburgh Lighthouse in the evening. See for tickets.

DJ Alan Strachan of is donating his time to the event once more and will be the host for the day.

One of the highlights will be a performance from local music group Starstruck - a group of young people from 12 to 21 years old who get together to rehearse every Wednesday at the Fraserburgh Community and Sports Centre from 6pm to 9pm. They are always looking for new members so feel free to pop along and join in. You can bring your own instrument or use those supplied at the centre. The centre is well equipped with sound and recording equipment to help progress budding local talent.

Other highlights include an opportunity to get fit and healthy by joining Marnie Laird for some Zumba; the F&F Fashion Show; and you simply won’t be able to miss some very special and very tall visitors - courtesy of Theatre Modo - who will be arriving at 11am and who will be at the event throughout the day.

The Kids Super Saturday Shack will also be hosting free face painting, an Old MacDonald’s Farm Competition sponsored by Dimensions on High Street, Hook a Duck, drawing activities and more. As usual there will be lots of inflatable fun including a free Bouncy Castle courtesy of Rumble Tumble Leisure.

The Fraserburgh Forward Business Association (FFBA) and Fraserburgh Development Trust (FDT) have received fantastic support and encouragement from Aberdeenshire Council and the council’s financial support has made these events possible for Fraserburgh.

Organisers hope everyone has a fantastic time on Saturday, August 9, and look forward to hearing your comments about what you enjoyed and what you would like to see added to these events. You can even volunteer to be part of the Super Saturday team on the day. Organisers are currently looking for volunteers for the Tasting Stall and Kids Super Saturday Shack.
