Tesco Fraserburgh’s recently-appointed Community Champion made a special visit to The Neuk recently as part of a high tea afternoon.

Linda Sherry, who has worked at Tesco in the Broch since it opened 13 years ago, visited the day care centre to provide a delicious tasting session for their clients.

Linda brough with her a selection of cup cakes, scones, pancakes and jam for the event.

The surplus food which was left over went to the residents of Faithlie Home.

Commenting, Linda Sherry said: “It was really good. We all sat round the table together and had a really nice afternoon.

“It was great to see the clients of the Neuk. There’s a really homely atmosphere there and the table they set out was beautiful.”

As well as taking Tesco out to the community, another major part of Linda’s new role is helping the community with fund-raising events.

Already, Linda has worked with a number of people who are raising funds for different causes, including the Archie Foundation and CLIC Sargent. Linda has supported the fund-raisers by organising bag packing at Tesco check-outs as well as other opportunities for fund-raisers to use the store.

Tesco is also involved with two fashion shows which are coming up in the near future, one at the recently-renamed North East Scotland
College and one at Mintlaw Academy.

Community Champion Linda will also be involved with a ‘Round the World’ tasting event with the Brownies, and visiting local schools to find out pupils’ stories about their experiences of visiting Tesco.

Also new to Tesco is a community board at the end of the check-out section for shoppers to post details of upcoming events.
